For a knock-out dinner party, ask the block man to debone and score a pork belly while you wait. Or make a selection from the minced, marinated, and other whole cuts of meat from pork fillet to matured beef, while the freezer section has frozen free-range duck. The variety of cold hams, German sausages and traditional pâtés are impressive and they are famous for their beech-smoked eisbein. The veal and pork schnitzel is particularly good.  This is also where you will pick up other typical German delicacies such as spätzle and sauerkraut.
